Una (Benson) Weiss passed away on Monday morning, January 25, 2010 at the United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville. She was preceded in deather by her husband of 67 years, Adam Weiss, Jr.Una is survived by two sons, Adam R. âBobâ Weiss of Fairview Heights, IL and Kenneth G. âKenâ Weiss of Farmington Hills, MI. Also surviving are seven granddaughters and twelve great-grandchildren.Una (Benson) Weiss was born in Vincennes, IN,  April 30, 1920. Her childhood and youth were spent in Russellville, IL where she was raised by Charles and Maude (Broyles) Benson.Una and Adam Weiss, Jr. were united in marriage October 20, 1939 in the Bridgeport Catholic parsonage by the later Father Donovan. She and Adam owned and operated Weiss Cleaners at 10th and Jefferson Street for 25 years. In 1973, they sold the building, its contents, and retired. The family owned business was opened at that location in 1920.A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, January 29th at 11:30 am at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Friends may call at St. Lawrence from 10:00 am until the service hour at 11:30 am.Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. A luncheon at the St. Lawrence School Building will follow interment.Memorials may be made to St. Lawrence Catholic Church or United Methodist Village of Lawrenceville.
