Wilma Mae "Tilly" Barrix, 84, of Lawrenceville passed away Monday August 15, 2011 at the United Methodist Village where she had resided for the last 10 years. She was born August 17, 1926 in Lawrence County the daughter of Everett and Dona Dale (McClure) Higgins. On July 3, 1943 she married John A. Barrix. He preceded her in death on January 10, 2007. Tilly was a homemaker. She was also a member of the Wesleyan Christian Church on 4th Street in Lawrenceville. She is survived by two sons: Jim and his wife Nancy Barrix of Lawrenceville, IL, Dale and his wife Janet Barrix of Vincennes, IN, two daughters: Marcella Barrix of Lawrenceville, IL, Jeanette and her husband Rick Zeller of Vincennes, IN, 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Along with her husband, a brother, a sister, a grandson, and a great-granddaughter are deceased. The funeral will be Thursday 10:00am CST at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Visitation is Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00pm CST. Burial will be at Pollard Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to the Wesleyan Christian Church.
