Thomas Eugene Woodruff

Thomas Eugene Woodruff, age 70, of rural Lawrenceville, IL, entered the Gates of Heaven on Friday, July 26, 2013 at his residence. He was born May 19, 1943 in Hammond, IN, the son of Herbert Carey Woodruff and Isabel Mae (Simons) Woodruff. He married Nancy Atterberry on May 10, 1977. Thomas worked as in the construction business as a roofer and in maintenance at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. Preceding Thomas in death were his parents, twin sons Timothy and Tommy Woodruff, son: Eugene Woodruff, two brothers, Dennis and Herbert Woodruff and one sister, Helen Irene Woodruff. Survivors include his wife Nancy of rural Lawrenceville; three sons, Mark Woodruff (Crystal) of Lawrenceville, Jeff Woodruff of Westfield, IN, and Jimmy Pointer of Gulfport, MS; one step-son, John Atterberry of North Carolina; two daughters, Selina Schnadenberg (Steve) of Westfield, IN and Sherry Newton of North Carolina; one sister Alberta Pfeiffer of Portage, IN; 22 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, Payton I. Martin. Funeral services will be Monday, July 29, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL. Visitation will be Monday from 1:00 PM until service time. Burial will be in Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
