Thelma Mae Preston

Thelma Mae (Jerrell) Preston, 80, of Lawrenceville, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at Good Samaritian Hospital in Vincennes.She was born Sept. 2, 1930, in Lawrenceville, the daughter of Moses and Rebecca (Hobbs) Jerrell. On her 20th birthday, Sept. 2, 1950, she married Paul F. Preston, Sr., of Lawrenceville. He survives.She was a homemaker and retired after working at the Lawrenceville Walmart for 15 years. She enjoyed making homemade wooden crafts with her husband. Along with her husband, she is survived by two sons: Paul F. Preston, Jr. (wife Brenna) and Michael R. Preston (wife Pam), both of Lawrenceville; and one daughter, Linda Preston Thacker (husband Lee) of Oblong; one brother, Carl Jerrell (wife Dee) of Arkansas; seven grandchildren: Stephanie, Jessica, Andrea, Laura, Chad, Jenna and Stacie; four great-grandchildren: Jason, Brandon, Sydney and Ryan; plus several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Sarah Catherine; and six brothers, Delmar, Vanis, Bill, Roy, Virgil and Bob. The funeral will be held Wednesday, Nov. 17, at 10 a.m. at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, with burial to follow at the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday, Nov. 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
