Ted Morris

Ted Morris October 17, 1939 - March 15, 2014 Teddy "Ted" Morris,74, of Bridgeport, IL passed away Saturday March 15, 2014 at his residence. Born October 17, 1939 in Richland County, IL the son of Robert Rufus and Annie Mae (McNelly) Morris. On April 18, 1958 he married Nora Waller. She survives. Along with his wife he is survived by three sons: David and his wife Penny Morris of West Salem, IL, Travis Morris and his fiancé Tamara of Zion, IL Sam Morris of Bridgeport, IL, three grandchildren: Dana and Michael Gene Morris, John Michael and his wife Shelly Morris, and two great-grandchildren: Jimmy and Xander Morris. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Walter and Warren Morris, and two sisters: Mabel Louise Kemper and an infant sister. Ted retired from the Texaco Refinery as a Tank Gauger. He was a member of the Hi-Way Church of God. He served in the United States Army. Ted loved going to church and served many years a a song leader. He also enjoyed playing golf, tennis and working in his garden. Ted read lots of books, and loved watching old movies, especially, Star Trek. The funeral will be Wednesday at 12:00 noon at the Hi-Way Church of God in Lawrenceville, IL with visitation from 10:00 until the service hour of 12:00pm. Burial will be at the Billett Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Disabled American Veterans, Wounded Warriors Project, or to Good Samaritan Hospice in Ted's name.
