Sue Tredway, age 81, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Linda White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana. She was born on December 9, 1944 in Billett, Illinois, the daughter of John Bernard Tredway and Betty Payne Tredway.
Sue was a 1962 graduate of Lawrence Township High School. Following her graduation, she worked for several years as a cook at the Candlelight Restaurant in Lawrenceville, where she was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. Sue was an avid animal lover, especially devoted to her beloved cats. She enjoyed spending time reading and was a loyal fan of the Green Bay Packers. Sue also loved baking, and her Christmas cookies were especially enjoyed by family and friends during the holiday season. Above all, she was known for her nurturing and caring nature, often assuming a motherly role within her family and providing love, guidance, and support to her siblings throughout their lives.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her brothers, John Tredway and Joe Tredway; her sister, Beverly Johnson; her sister-in-law, Jenny Ann Tredway; her nephew, Tony Tredway; her niece, Megan Ndlovu.
Survivors include her brother, Jim (Bobbi) Tredway of Noblesville, Indiana; two sisters, Pam and Joyce Tredway of Lawrenceville, Illinois; her uncle, Bill Tredway of Billett, Illinois; her sister-in-law, Kassie Tredway of California; and several nieces and nephews.
No formal services will be conducted. To honor Sue’s memory, memorial donations may be made to Lawrence County Humane Society or to Lawrence County Claws and Paws.
