Stuart C. Marks

Stuart C. Marks ages 87 of Bridgeport, Illinois a former Sumner, Illinois resident died Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the Lawrence Community Healthcare in Bridgeport, IL. He was born July 14, 1924 in Bennington, Illinois the son of John Herbert Marks and Lulia Belle Walser Marks. Stuart was a farmer and retired construction worker. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in located in Bridgeport, IL. He was US Navy veteran of World War II. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. He is survived by his wife Zelma Schaich Marks whom he married on December 25, 1949. Also surviving are two sons: Raymond (Sharon) Eads of Claremont, IL., Herbert (Barbara)Marks of Falmouth, Ky. Two daughters: Stephanie (Mark) Ruppel of Lawrenceville, IL. and Tamara (Tim) Dupont of Newport, NH. Seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Barry, and seven brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Thursday at Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 PM till the service hour at 3:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery.
