Steven D. Dickirson

Steven D. Dickirson, age 66, of Bridgeport, Illinois passed away on Saturday, February 04, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born on April 19, 1956, in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the son of Donald D. and Wanda (Walls) Dickirson.

Steve was a farmer, a laborer, and worked road construction. He attended the First Christian Church in Bridgeport. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and sharing his crops, attending auctions, being in the know of the latest events in the county, as well as spending time with his grandchildren and his dog, Smoke. Steve was a man of many words, loved food, and flirting with the ladies with honorable mention to red heads.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors include three children, Jessica Harig and husband, Joe of Mt. Vernon, Indiana, Amanda Carter and husband, Brian of Bourbonnais, Illinois, and Loren Dickirson of Calhoun, Illinois; one brother, Jeffery Dickirson of Casper, Wyoming; five grandchildren, Austin Harig, Brianna Harig, Skyler Harig, Emmett Carter, and Blake Carter; and two great-grandchildren, Paislee Harig and Aiden Harig.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM CST at the W.B. Gray Building, located at 540 North Main Street in Bridgeport, Illinois 62417. Memorial donations may be made to the funeral home for funeral expenses. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
