Stephen R. "Steve" Mahrenholz, age 67, of rural Lawrenceville, IL, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014, at his residence. He was born in Vincennes, IN, the son of Glenn and Grace (Fortner) Mahrenholz. He married Marilyn Snyder on January 16, 1991, and she survives.
Survivors include his parents Glenn and Grace Mahrenholz of rural Lawrenceville; his wife Marilyn of rural Lawrenceville; one daughter Amy (Dave) Whitlock of Kokomo, IN; one step-daughter Sandi Grove of Sumner, IL; two stepsons Frank (Amy) Moyes of rural Lawrenceville, IL and Bobby Moyes of St. Francisville; one brother Gene (Judy) Mahrenholz of rural Lawrenceville; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Preceding Steve in death were one son Bradley Mahrenholz and two brothers James and Doug Mahrenholz.
Steve was a retired farmer. Prior to his retirement, he and his brother Gene owned and operated G & S Farms for 20 years.
Steve attended Rising Sun Christian Church and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was a volunteer fireman for Lawrence-Allison Fire Protection District. Steve was a life member of the Elks and a member of the Moose.
Funeral services will be at 10 AM (IL time) Monday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville.
Visitation will be Sunday evening from 4 to 8 PM (IL time) at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Vincennes, IN.
