Shirley Ann McDonald, 74, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away Thursday, September 3, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville, IN.  Born November 28, 1934 in Lawrenceville, she was the daughter of Hubert and Amanda Etta (Crouch) Howe.  She married Jack McDonald November 28, 1955 and he passed away October 19, 2004.Shirley was a member of the Wesleyan Church where she taught Sunday School, was in the choir, and was a board member for the church.  She was also secretary-treasurer of the Wesleyan Women International.  Shirley worked 27 years as a cook at Arlington School for the Unit #20 School District.  She was also a volunteer Cub Scout leader.Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and husband.Survivors include three sons Christopher and Annette McDonald of Danville, IL, Rick and Carolyn McDonald of Chapel Hill, TN, and Bruce and Connie McDonald of Lawrenceville; one daughter Shannon and Jeff Shick of Lawrenceville: one sister Rowena "Posey" Green of Robinson, IL; ten grandchildren Amanda McDonald of Chicago; Melissa McDonald and Ashley McDonald of Las Vegas, NV; Preston McDonald of Shelbyville, TN; C.D. McDonald, Kyle Boatman, Casey Bedwell, Grant McDonald, Taylor McDonald and Cody Shick all of Lawrenceville; as well as three great-grandchildren.The funeral will be 10:00 am Tuesday at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in  Lawrenceville.Friends may call Monday evening from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society with envelopes available at the funeral home.
