Shirley A. Cook

Shirley A. Cook, age 76, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away Thursday, March 22, 2012 at United Methodist Village-North Campus. Born, September 14, 1935 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of David and Pauline (Shick) James. She married Dee Cook March 8, 1956 and he preceded her in death December 28, 2011. Shirley worked in the Deli at Neeley's Key Market and McKim's IGA. She enjoyed refinishing furniture with her husband Dee. Shirley was a member of the Wesleyan 6th Street Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dee, one son Jeff, one daughter Vicki, one brother and one sister. Survivors include two sons Gary Cook of Lawrenceville and Bruce Cook and his wife Bonnie of Bethalto, IL, one sister Sandy Hobbs of Florida, and six grandchildren Brandon Cook, Michael Cook, Joel Cook, Christopher Cook, Nicole Cook and Christian Cook. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Monday at Lawrenceville City Cemetery. There is no visitation. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society with envelopes available through the funeral home.
