Sherry A. Burdette, age 56, of Sumner, Illinois, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, Illinois. She was born June 24, 1957, in Crawford County, Illinois.
Sherry was a homemaker. She worked as a CNA for many years at local nursing homes. She was co-owner and operator of Irene's Café in Sumner.
Preceding Sherry in death were her parents Kenny Wright and Patricia Hodges and a brother Don Gosnell, Jr.
Survivors include her fiancé Rod Wilson of Sumner, four sons Dusty (Randi) Pritts of Sumner, Williard (Amber) Pritts of Bridgeport, Tripper Pritts of Cleveland, Tennessee and Ryan Pritts of Sumner; one daughter Brandie (Steve) Newman of Deridder, Louisiana; one half-brother Mark Gosnell of Olney, Illinois; two sisters Judy Perry of Bridgeport and Sue (Albert) Arms of Mitchell, Indiana; one half-sister Rosemary Green of Bridgeport; and 11 grandchildren.
Sherry's request was for her body to be donated to science. The family request that friends may gather for a time of remembrance from 5 to 7 PM Thursday at Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner. A memorial service will begin at 7 PM. Following the memorial service, friends are invited to Irene's Café to share memories.
