Sherrie G. Poskitt

Sherrie G. Poskitt, age 66, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015 at her home.   Born March 20, 1949, in Vincennes, IN, she was the daughter of James and Madge (Decker) Bowers. She married Alvie Poskitt on April 14, 1999.   Sherrie worked at Good Samaritan Hospital in patient transport. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and volunteered for the Sign of the Kingdom. Sherrie was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles and knitting. Preceding Sherrie in death were her parents. Survivors include her husband, Alvie Poskitt, of Lawrenceville, IL; son Tony Bowers, of Vincennes, IN; daughter, Andrea Foster, of New Orleans, LA; brothers, Mike, Craig, Rick Bowers, all of Vincennes, IN; sisters, Sandy Hennon, of Vincennes, IN, Debbie Bowers of Vincennes, and Darla Steele of Sumner, IL; 3 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, December 4, 2015 at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois.   Visitation will be Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home and again on Friday December 4, 2015 from 9:00 AM until the time of service.   Burial will take place in Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
