Shelene Marie Morlan

Shelene Marie Morlan, age 70, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Thursday, February 09, 2023 at her residence. She was born on August 12, 1952 in Odessa, Texas, the daughter of Guy F. and Mary Elizabeth (Thompson) Morlan.

Shelene was a 1971 graduate of Lawrenceville Township High School. She was the first female in the Lawrenceville FFA Chapter and was active in 4-H. She lived in the Chicago area for most of her life and worked for Carl Sandburg Condominiums as the building manager. She then worked for the Lawrenceville Drive Inn. She enjoyed her horses, fly fishing, and golfing. Her memberships included a bowling league, the Lawrenceville Moose, and the Flat Rock American Legion.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Guy Morlan and Elizabeth Clutts; step-father, Robert Clutts; step-brother, Michael Clutts; and two nephews, Peter Bryton Nicolini and Matthew Davis.

Survivors include five siblings, Jan Morlan and wife, Pam, Colene Russell, Jolene Willis, and Beth Burson all of Lawrenceville, Illinois, and Lora Davis and husband, Andy of Kannapolis, North Carolina; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, as well as her fur babies, Pearl and Maynard.

Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 11:00 AM CDT at the Jones Cemetery. The family requests that you please dress casually. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Carle Hospice-Olney. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
