Sharon S. Wimberly

Sharon S. Wimberly, age 81, of Westphalia, Indiana (formerly of Lawrenceville, Illinois) passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at her daughter’s residence in Westphalia, Indiana. She was born on February 14, 1939 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the daughter of John E. and Tessie Raye Hale. She married William W. Wimberly on March 23, 1957 and he preceded her in death on January 01, 2015.

Sharon had worked at the United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville, Illinois as a nurse’s aide. She enjoyed flowers and shopping.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, William; and brother, Elmer Farrar.

Survivors include her three children, Debra Payne and husband, Charles of Westphalia, Indiana, Cynthia Wirth and husband, Michael of Bridgeport, Illinois, and William E. Wimberly of Westphalia, Indiana; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at 12:00pm CST at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will also be on Tuesday from 11:00am until the service hour of 12:00pm CST at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
