It is with great sadness that the family of Sarah Joy Bowen ‘Hulfachor' announces her passing after a long battle with cancer. On Monday, June 18, 2018 at the age of 36, she passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. She was born July 22, 1981 in Corydon, Kentucky, the daughter of Harold Lee Bowen and Linda Sue (Burch) Bowen Ash.
Sarah was a homemaker and mother. She was very involved with her children. She volunteered at school, as well as coaching. Her hobbies included scrapbooking, photos, gardening, taking her children on adventures, and antiquing.
Preceding her in death was her father.
Sarah will be lovingly remembered by her fiancé, David Brian Hulfachor of Allendale, Illinois; children, Tate Michael Hulfachor, Trenton Matthew Hulfachor, and Alaynah Kaylynn Hulfachor all of Allendale, Illinois; mother, Linda of Newburgh, Indiana; two sisters, Angela (Kelcey) Wharton of Hoover, Alabama and Michelle (Steven) Spivey of Newburgh, Indiana; two brothers, Aaron Bowen of Evansville, Indiana and Andrew (Jaime) Bowen of Newburgh, Indiana; mother-in-law, Denise Kay Hulfachor of Lawrenceville, Illinois; father-in-law, David W. (Amy) Hulfachor of St. Francisville, Illinois; sisters-in-law, April (Jay) Wilcox of Bridgeport, Illinois and Alexis (Kurt) Hulfachor of Granite City, Illinois; brother-in-law, Anthony (Kelly) Martin of Knoxville, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 2:30 PM CST at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM CST at the funeral home. A private committal service will be conducted at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Sarah's memory may be made to the Sarah Bowen Children's Fund at People's State Bank.
