Sandra Kay Martin, 77, of Highland, Illinois passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at San Gabriel Memory Care in Highland, Illinois. She was born January 19, 1941 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the daughter of Oscar C. and Edythe B. (Davis) Fisher. She married Charles Samuel (Chuck) Martin on October 2, 1960 and he preceded her in death on July 27, 2018.
Sandra was a retired rural mail carrier. She had also worked at Suttle Apparatus and Hertz Rental. She was a member of the Highland Hope United Methodist Church in Highland, Illinois. She was a former member of Mead Memorial Methodist Church in Russell, Kentucky and First Baptist Church in Flatwoods, Kentucky. She was an active member of a number of volunteer organizations to include the Greenup County Homemaker's and the Boy Scouts of America.
Preceding her in death were her parents and husband, Chuck.
Survivors include two sons, Colonel William Richard (Rick) Martin and wife, Michelle, and Charles Michael Martin and wife, Kim; four grandchildren, Jacob Armistead and Ryan Nicole Martin and Seth McCrae and Tanner Davis Martin; one sister, Mary K. Ashley and husband, Silas of Petersburg, Indiana; and one brother, Bill Fisher of Champaign, Illinois.
Visitation will be conducted Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. A graveside service will follow at the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Highland Hope United Methodist Church, the Parkinson's Foundation, or Boy Scout Troop 1038, Troy, Illinois.
