Sandra ‘Sandy’ K. Waldrop

Sandra ‘Sandy’ K. Waldrop, age 81, of Sumner, Illinois, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025 at her residence. She was born on June 03, 1943 in Robinson, Illinois, the daughter of Matthias and Lois (Mahin) Ford. She was married to Ivan Dene Waldrop, and he survives.

Sandy worked at Suttle Apparatus. She was a member of the Lawrence County Country Club. Her hobbies included watching football, playing golf, and spending time with her family.

Preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, Gary Ford; and one son, Paul Bret O’Brien.

Survivors include her husband, Dene; three step-sons, Ron Waldrop of St. Louis, Missouri, Dave Waldrop of Sumner, Illinois, and Duane Waldrop of Sumner, Illinois; one daughter-in-law, Rhonda O’Brien of Indianapolis, Indiana; one brother, Tony Ford of Bridgeport, Illinois; one sister, Carole Adams and husband, Jack of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and special caregivers, Gayle Inyart, Jessica Cafin, and Lawrence County Health Department Friends.

Private services were conducted. Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
