Sally Hardin

Sally (Nora) Hardin, 92, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at her residence. She was born October 13, 1925 in Lawrence County, Illinois, the daughter of Rolla Neal and Tillie (Weaver) Fye. She married Willard W. Hardin on May 1, 1946 and he preceded her death on October 25, 1989. Sally was the Bridgeport Township High School nurse. She was also Director of Nursing at the United Methodist Village. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing Bridge, and was a wonderful cook. She also enjoyed her cats. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Willard; three brothers, Paul Fye, Gerald Fye and Carl Fye; and two sisters, Austia DeLap and Lois Witters. Survivors include three daughters, Penny Cooper of Bridgeport, Illinois, Cathy Tomey and husband, Joe, of Huntingburg, Indiana, and Trudy Hardin of Hermitage, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Jaclyn Galey, Angie Cooper, and Heather Cooper; and two great-grandchildren, Shelby and Jackson Galey. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 10:00 AM CST at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM CST at the funeral home. Burial will be at Cresthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Sally's memory may be given to the Lawrence County Humane Society.
