Ruth Kissel

Genevieve Ruth Kissel, age 92, of Lawrenceville passed away Monday, November 25, 2013, at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. She was born September 7, 1921 in rural Sumner, Illinois the daughter of Earl Judy and Verna Ruth Corrie. She was married to Donald William Kissel on September 10, 1944, in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Genevieve attended Otterbein United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for over 50 years. Genevieve was a housewife and devoted mother. Preceding Genevieve in death were her parents, her husband Donald, a daughter Donna Jean Stewart, a brother Gail Judy and a sister Betty June Judy. Survivors include her son David William Kissel and his wife Linda Ann of Lawrenceville, and one sister Ethel Mae Judy of Lawrenceville. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday at Lawrenceville City Cemetery. There is no visitation. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
