Russell E. Higgins, age 55, of Lawrenceville passed away Monday, May 16, 2011 at his residence. Born October 10, 1955 in Lawrenceville, he was the son of Gene Higgins and Janice (Snyder) Moore.
Russell was a carpenter and a boilermaker who worked out of the local union NTM Unit in Kansas. He was an Army Veteran.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include one son Shane (Yuka) Underhill of San Jose, CA; one daughter Kizzy Wilson of Vincennes, IN; one brother Lewis Higgins of Peoria, IL; step-father Glenn Moore of Canton, IL; and four grandchildren Dakota Higgins Lovellette, Kengo Underhill, Keiji Underhill and Nina Underhill.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
