Ruby Opal Mickey

Ruby Opal Mickey, age 96, of Lawrenceville, passed away January 2, 2008 at the United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville, IL. Born July 22, 1911 in Lawrence County, IL, she was the daughter of Phillip Burrell and Ruby Jane (Mahan) Burrell Lackey.She married her first husband, Clarence Faith March 17, 1928 and he passed away July, 1966. She married her second husband Emerson Mickey and he passed away in 1994.Opal was a homemaker. She was a member of the Baptist Church in Robinson, IL. She was also a member of the Moose, VFW, and the American Legion Auxilliary.Opal was preceded in death by her parents, her first and second husbands, one daughter (Betty Stevenson) and two brothers (Lawrence Lackey and Archie Burrell).She is survived by a sister-in-law Flossie Lackey of Lawrenceville, IL and one grandchild William Glenn Stevenson of Phoenix, AZ.The funeral will be Friday at 11:00 AM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville.Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the service hour at 11:00 am. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
