Roy Lee Volkman

Biography Roy Lee Volkman, age 78, of Lawrenceville, IL, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville. He was born August 29, 1934 in Vincennes, IN, the son of William John and Joe Ann (Koonce) Volkman. He married Isabell Frederick on January 15, 1955 and she survives. Roy worked as a truck driver and laborer for Emulsion, Inc for 36 years. He was a member of the Wesleyan Church. Roy enjoyed yard work and fishing. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers Fred, Vic, Bob and Frank, and two sisters Evelyn Gosnell and Marie Wimberly. Survivors include his wife Isabell of Lawrenceville, one son Ronald (Joetta) Volkman of Evansville, IN; one daughter Paula (Steve) Waller of Phoenix, AZ; one brother Richard (Mary) Volkman of St. Marys, GA; one sister Dorothy Ralston of Lawrenceville, IL and three grandchildren Brandon Waller, Marisa and Kelsey Volkman. Funeral services are 11 AM Friday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL. Visitation is 5 to 7 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lawrenceville City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wesleyan Church.
