Roy A. Richardson

Roy Allen ‘Buster' Richardson, 86, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at his residence. He was born February 14, 1931 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the son of Roscoe and Mary (Ridenour) Richardson. He married Pearl ‘Peggy' Seed in 1952 and she survives. Buster was a Lawrenceville Postal Carrier for 25 years and a member of the Billet United Methodist Church. He taught Sunday School at the Billet United Methodist Church and other churches as well. He was an Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters; and one grandchild. Survivors include his wife, three children, Terri Grumieaux and husband, Jeff, of Vincennes, Indiana, Rick Richardson and wife, Sue, of Palestine, Illinois, and Deb Helderman and husband, Herman, of Lawrenceville, Illinois; one brother, Jerry Wheeler of Florida; one sister, Pamela Penna of Lyons, Illinois; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 1:00 PM CST at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM CST at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery with military rites. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Buster's memory may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice or the Hutsonville Heritage Shelter Care.
