Rosie (Runyon) Laughlin

Biography Rosie (Runyon) Laughlin, age 81, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, died April 10, 2016, in Lawrenceville.  She was born July 11, 1934, in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Oscar Everett and Alice Lucinda (Knackmuhs) Runyon.  She married Theo R. Laughlin on December 1, 1957, and he died January 1, 1991. Rosie was a homemaker.  She also worked at Pure Oil Company and Lawrenceville Elks Lodge.  She was a member of First Christian Church. Preceding Rosie in death were her parents; a son, Terry (Donna) Laughlin; two brothers, Richard W. Runyon and Leo E. Runyon and one granddaughter, Samantha Brooke Laughlin. Survivors include a son, Brad (Lora) Laughlin of Avon, IN; a daughter, Trudy (Bob) Lewis of Effingham, IL; two brothers,  Charles "Bude" (Thelma) Runyon of Redding, CA and Don (Shelby) Runyon of Olney, IL; a sister Evelyn (Jim) Ahlfield of Olney, IL; thirteen grandchildren, Elan Laughlin, Katelyn Laughlin, Sabrina Laughlin, Matt (Jean) Lewis, Andrea Shafer, Elizabeth Lewis, Joni Niebert, Jeff Laughlin and Tracy Laughlin, Patrick McCurry, Liam McCurry, Maeve McCurry and Maura McCurry; four great-grandchildren, Alexis Brown, Jessica Lewis, Dominque Shafer, Nicholas Fisher, Colin Fisher and one great-great-grandson, Bradon Baker. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 to 11 AM at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Saturday at the funeral home with burial to follow in Bridgeport City Cemetery.
