Robin Lea Legrand

Robin Lea LeGrand, age 62, of Bridgeport, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. She was born August 13, 1953, in Fort Hayward, California, the daughter of Gene and Carolyn (Wilson) Haney. She married Steve R. LeGrand on May 24, 1975, and he survives. Robin was the K-12 Music Instructor for Unit #20 School District from 1978 to the present. She gave private piano lessons, was a theater director, was active with the Lawrence County Arts Council, and for a period of time served as Choir Director at First United Methodist Church. She was an active member of the Teacher's Union. Robin was preceded in death by her father. Survivors include her mother, Carolyn Haney of Lawrenceville; her husband, Steve LeGrand of Bridgeport; a son, Charles "Chaz" LeGrand (Jessica Noesges) of Charleston, IL; a daughter, Katie Kiser (Roger II) of Lawrenceville; and two grandchildren, Daniel Kiser and Aiden Kiser. Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM Sunday in the Lawrenceville High School Auditorium. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the school. The family request that memorials be made to: Music Department of CUSD #20 with envelopes available through the funeral home.
