Robert A. Wright, age 90, of rural Sumner, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was born March 28, 1923, in Lawrence County, Illinois, the son of James L. and Pearl (Easterday) Wright. He married Helen R. Foss on January 8, 1943, and she died October 16, 2002.
Robert began his career working for Meadow Gold. He then worked in production at Marathon Oil for 30+ years until retirement. He was a member of Bethlehem Church and a veteran of the Army Air Corps, having served during WWII.
Preceding Robert in death were his parents and his wife, Helen.
Survivors include a son, Alden F. "Buddy" Wright of rural Sumner; a daughter Linda Reed of rural Sumner; one sister Wanda Bell of Vero Beach, Florida; three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be at 2 PM Monday at Cresthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Claremont, Illinois. Friends may visit from 1:30 till the hour of service at 2PM at the graveside.
