Robert Wimberly

Robert Wimberly, age 79, of rural Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born September 1, 1936, in Lawrence County, Illinois, the son of Roscoe and Myrtle (Gravitt) Wimberly. He married Nancy Condiff in September, 1957. Robert retired from Loeb Oil Company where he worked as a laborer. He was a member of Lawrenceville Free Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and automotive work. Preceding Robert in death were his parents, several brothers and sisters, one grandson, Dustin "Dusty" Wimberly and one daughter-in-law, Debbie Wimberly. Survivors include three sons, Terry Wimberly and his fiancée Carolyn, Thomas Wimberly and Michael Wimberly all of Lawrenceville; one sister, Anna Fischer of Lawrenceville; one granddaughter Crystal Wimberly, and one great-grandson, Mason Parrott. Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Friday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Visitation will be from 11:30 AM until the hour of service at 1:30 PM Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lawrenceville City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for final expenses.
