Robert G. Stripe, 71 of rural Lawrenceville, IL passed away Monday, March 23, 2009 at his residence.Born May 2, 1937 in East Chicago, IN he was the son of James and Anna Mae (Volden) Stripe. He married Shirley "Dee" Neil March 9, 1956 and she survives. He is also survived by one son and daughter-in-law James Michael Stripe and his wife Jane of Phoenix, AZ.Robert was preceded in death by his parents.Robert was an iron worker for 40 years. He was also a gardener and enjoyed selling produce at the Farmer's Market in Lawrenceville. Robert was a member of the Christ Community Church in Vincennes, IN.A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Zion Cemetery with burial in the Zion Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
