Robert Lewis Piper

Robert Lewis Piper, 70, of Silver Springs, FL (formerly of Sumner, IL) passed away Wednesday August 31, 2011 in Ocala, FL. He was born January 11, 1941 Moweaqua, IL the son of Lewis Clark and Elinor D. (Waddell) Piper. On August 10, 1962 he married Gerri Sue Gravitt. She survives. Bob had worked in sales. He attended the Sumner United Methodist Church. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. Along with his wife, he is survived by a daughter: Shannon and her husband, Doug Dodd of Franklin, IN, a brother Steven Piper of Louisville, IL, three sisters: Phyllis Dailey of Puducah, KY, Pam Piper of Las Vegas, NV, Nancy Rogers of Mt. Carmel, IL, three grandchildren: and four great-grandchildren. Along with his parents, a son Jeff Piper preceded him in death. A Memorial Service will be conducted Saturday September 17, 2011 at 10:00am at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Private Graveside Services were conducted. Memorial donations may be given to the Lawrence County Humane Society.
