Robert M. James, age 39, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Carle Foundation in Champaign, Illinois. He was born on February 17, 1986 in Lawrence County, Illinois, the son of Robert Gulley and Marcia (Phillip) James Wilson.
Robert worked in construction, the Ford Sawmill, horticulture, and landscaping. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and spending time with family and friends.
Preceding Robert in death were his father Robert Gulley and his maternal grandfather David G. James.
Survivors include: his mother Marcia (Phillip) Wilson; his siblings Ryan James of Lawrenceville and Rachel (James) White of Lawrenceville; maternal grandmother Betty James; and a niece and eight nephews.
Family and friends may gather at Lawrenceville City Park Pavillion for a time of sharing and reflecting on Thursday, July 3rd from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Lawrence County Humane Society or to Fish and Loaves – Lawrence County.
