Robert 'Bob' Allen Wagner

Robert "Bob" Allen Wagner, age 87, of rural Sumner, Illinois died Sunday, August 11, 2013, at Willow Manor in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born June 7, 1926 in Sumner, Illinois, the son of Joy and Veva (Lathrop) Wagner. He married Jean Schuder on May 14, 1949 in Sumner, Illinois. Bob was a member of Sumner United Methodist Church where he served as trustee and board chairman. He was also a school board member for Petty School in Unit #10. Bob was a self-employed farmer who owned and operated his own sawmill. He was a veteran of the Naval Air Corps, having served during WWII. Preceding Bob in death were his parents and one brother, Kenneth Wagner. Survivors include his wife Jean of rural Sumner, one son Andy Wagner (Nan) of Vincennes, Indiana; two daughters Joan Brian (Jess) of Sumner, Illinois and Jan Lane (Bill) of Rosedale, Indiana; one sister Eileen Cunningham (Cooper) of rural Sumner; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life and Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at 10 AM Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Sumner United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to Sumner Senior Citizens.
