Richard Shidler

Richard "Dick" Shidler, age 82, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville. He was born June 30, 1929 in Lawrence County, IL the son of Clinton Hatchel and Grace Evelyn (Goins) Shidler. He married Bonnie Wagonseller, September 10, 1949 and she survives. Richard owned and operated Shidler's Shell Station. He also drove a bus for the Senior Citizen's Center. He was an Army Veteran, having served during the Korean War. Richard was a member of the Elks, the Union Local and the Sports Hall of Fame for Lawrenceville High School. Survivors include his wife Bonnie of Lawrenceville, two sons Dennis and wife Kathy of Mooresville, NC and Jeffery "Jay" of Lexington, KY and two grandchildren. There will be no formal services. The body is being cremated.
