Richard D. Gasperik

Richard D. Gasperik, age 80, of Lawrenceville, (formerly of Sumner) passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010 at the United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville.He was born January 4, 1930 in Chicago, IL the son of Joseph Zoltan and Helen Szekeres Gasperik. He married Lola Cessna July 6, 1951 and she survives.Richard worked as an auto mechanic at Westport Auto. He also worked for the City of Sumner prior to retirement. Richard was an Army Veteran, having served during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion and the Sumner Ruritans.Richard was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.Survivors include his wife Lola of Sumner, two daughters Linda Gasperik and Randy McClellan of Bridgeport and Gayle and Jesse Wyatt of Sumner; one brother Ernest Gasperik of Chicago; three step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 pm at Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner.A graveside service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday at Petty Cemetery.
