Richard D. Angle

Richard D. Angle, age 76, of rural Sumner, Illinois, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2013, at his residence. He was born September 23, 1937 in Crystal, Michigan, the son of O.D. and Iva (Jones) Angle. He married Shirley Allen on November 17, 1956. Richard worked for Caterpillar for 15 years in Aurora, Illinois, and Secretary of State for 25 years until retirement. He was a member of the Kendall Masonic Lodge in Yorkville, IL. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Deana Akers, two brothers and one sister. Survivors include his wife, Shirley, of rural Sumner, Illinois; one son Robert Angle and (Kim) of rural Lawrenceville, Illinois; one daughter Sheila (John) Johnston of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; one brother Jackie Angle of Joliet, Illinois; a son-in-law Jimmie Akers of Lawrenceville, Illinois; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11 AM Monday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Masonic rites will be conducted at 7:30pm. Burial will be in Petty Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Island Free Methodist Church Food Pantry in memory of Richard and Deana with envelopes available through the funeral home.
