Ralph 'Dugan' Eugene Peters

Ralph ‘Dugan’ Eugene Peters, age 82, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Sunday, April 02, 2023 at the Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. He was born on January 15, 1941 in Evansville, Indiana, the son of Julius Fredrick and Elizabeth (Hackett) Peters. He married Joanne Stanley on August 02, 1968, and she survives.

Ralph graduated in 1958 from Evansville Reitz High School, and served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for Whirlpool from 1962 until 1968, National Cash Register from 1968 until 1978, and Prudential Insurance from 1978 until he retired in 2000. He was a member of the Lawrenceville American Legion, a 40-year member of the Lawrence County Country Club, and a lifetime member of the Lawrenceville Elks. He enjoyed woodworking.

Preceding him in death his parents; one brother, Mike Peters; and two sisters, Shirley Huber and Marilyn Grimwood.

Survivors include his wife, Joanne; one son, Ron Peters and wife, Katie of Carlyle, Illinois; one brother, Paul Fredrick Peters of Tampa, Florida; three grandchildren, Zachary Peters, Matthew Peters, and Waverleigh Peters; nephews and nieces, Terri Grimwood, Debbie Hahn and husband, Stan, Steven Grimwood, Ann Jeffers and husband, Richard, Julie Earnst and significant other, Dan, Stan Carter and wife, Joyce, Eddie Carter and wife, Vicki, Barry Carter, Steven Carter and wife, Heather, and Annette Carter; as well as several cousins, great-nephews, and great-nieces.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Friday, April 07, 2023 at 2:00 PM CDT at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois, and may be viewed with the following link: https://www.facebook.com/emmonsmaceysteffey . Visitation will be on Friday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM CDT at the funeral home.
