Phyllis J. Neer

Phyllis J. Neer, age 86, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Friday, April 16, 2021 at the United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville, Illinois. She was born on October 01, 1934 in Sullivan County, Indiana, the daughter of Max and Florence (Douthittt) Wildman. She married James ‘Jack’ Neer on February 07, 1953, and he preceded her in death on February 03, 2000.

Phyllis was a cook at the Birds School, worked at Suttle Apparatus, and worked in housekeeping at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Birds United Methodist Church, and attended the First Baptist Church of Lawrenceville. She was also a member of the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; one son, Doug Neer; and one brother, Bruce Polk.

Survivors include three children, Teri Rogers and husband, Perry of Bridgeport, Illinois, Jeff Neer and wife, Karen of Evansville, Indiana, and Brian Neer and wife, Judy of Lawrenceville, Illinois; one sister, Brenda Brush of Robinson, Illinois; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Private services will be conducted. Burial will be in the Whitehouse Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
