Percy Lyman Campbell, age 73, of Lawrenceville, IL, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. He was born May 11, 1939, in Lawrenceville, IL, the son of Noah Thomas and Romance (Lynch) Campbell. His first wife, Estrella Figueroa(Canes) Campbell died August 10, 2006. He married his second wife, Ruby N. (Zehner ) Loudermilk on April 1, 2007.
Percy was a veteran and retired after serving 21 years with the United States Marines. He then worked as Deputy Sheriff in Louisiana for 17 years, as well as a mechanic in both Louisiana and California. Percy was a member of the Catholic Church and the Disabled American Veterans.
Percy was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, one son David Anthony Campbell, two brothers, three sisters, one grandchild and one great-great-grandchild.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Campbell of Lawrenceville, three sons Edward Alan Campbell of El Paso, TX, John Robert Campbell of Oceanside, CA, and Percy Lyman Campbell, Jr. of Kingsville, TX; two daughters Estrella Marie Morris of Wichita Falls, TX and Roberta Jean Mount of Corpus Christi, TX; two sisters Versy Swan (Jim) Blevins of Bridgeport, IL and Susie Smith of Vincennes, IN; 14 grandchildren and
24 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday evening from 4 to 6 PM at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home with the Rosary at 5:30 PM.
Funeral services will be at 10 AM Monday, at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association with envelopes available through the funeral home.
