Peggy Rogers

Biography Peggy L. Rogers, 82, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville. She was born September 4, 1931, in Lawrence County, the daughter of Goldie Davis. She married Donald E. Rogers on August 19, 1950 and he died May 31, 2009. Peggy worked at Central Industries for several years. She was a member of New Hope Christian Church in Bridgeport. She and her husband Don enjoyed spending the winter months for 16 years in Pharr, Texas. Peggy also enjoyed ceramics, camping at the Rod and Gun Club, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceding Peggy in death was her mother, her husband, Don; and one sister Dixie Holscher. Survivors include one son Donald E. Rogers, Jr. (Janet) of rural Lawrenceville; one daughter Deanna J. Brian (Ed) of rural Lawrenceville; four grandchildren Chad Brian, Robyn O'Neal, Brandon Rogers, and Brett Rogers; and two great-grandchildren Luke O'Neal and Jude O'Neal. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Thursday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cresthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Society or the Kentucky Autism Training Center with envelopes available through the funeral home.
