Peggy L. Fahr, 76, of Lawrenceville, IL entered eternal rest at 3:00pm on Saturday at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. She was born May 17, 1931 in Van, Texas to Roy and Bertie (Moore) Sweeten.Peggy was a homemaker and a lifetime member of the Central Christian Church in Lawrenceville, IL.She was married to Edward R. Gard who preceded her in death in October 1955.She is survived by her second husband William E. Fahr. They were married February 20, 1959.Also surviving are a son Roy E. Gard of Lawrenceville, IL, Terry Gard who preceded her in death, daughter Lou E. Bean and her husband Brian of Lawrenceville, IL, son William E. Fahr II and his wife Susan of Lawrenceville, IL, daughter Cindy A. Thacker and her husband Phil of Chauncey, IL, brother James Sweeten of Lawrenceville, IL, a sister Jeannette Wallace of Lawrenceville, IL, 17 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.A brother Roy Sweeten, and sisters Janice Benthimer, and Phyllis Strauch preceded her in death.Peggy will be forever missed by her family and everyone who knew her.The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:00pm at the Central Christian Church in Lawrenceville, IL. Visitation will be from 11:00am to the service hour of 1:00pm at the church. She will be laid to rest at the May Chapel Cemetery in Lawrenceville, IL.Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Central Christian Church Youth Group or to the American Cancer Society through the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home.
