Paul B. Wells, 83, of Bridgeport, IL, passed away November 8, 2008 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. Born April 2, 1925 in Lawrence County, IL, he was the son of Everett and Minnie (Doss) Wells. He married LaVeta Lane, December 4, 1943 and she survives.Paul was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Bridgeport. He was a retired truck driver. He worked for Marathon for 17 years. He also drove a truck for JW express out of Vincennes and Refiners Transport.He is survived by his wife LaVeta Wells of Bridgeport; one son Gary Wells of Bridgeport; one daughter Darla Black of Newburgh, IN; one brother Sam Wells of Duquoin, IL; three sisters Madaline Tucker of Flat Rock, IL, Kathlene Harmon of Olney, IL and Helen Hughes of Ashmore, IL; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by one son Danny Wells; two brothers; and two sisters.The funeral will be Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 PM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL. Burial will follow in the Cresthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Claremont, IL.Visitation will be Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
