Patrick E. Diver, age 88, of St. Francisville, Illinois passed away Thursday, August 21, 2014, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born February 16, 1926, in Lawrence County, Illinois, the son of Thomas A. and Louisa (Sumner) Diver. He married H. Charlene Ackman on July 14, 1946, who passed away February 19, 1999. He then married Wanda Swope Litherland in April, 2005, and she survives. Patrick worked as a supervisor at Texaco Refinery for 30 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mt. Carmel. Other memberships include the Lawrenceville VFW and St. Francisville American Legion. Patrick served with the United States Army Airborne during WWII. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and reading. Preceding Patrick in death were his parents; his first wife, Charlene; two sons, Donald and David Diver; one daughter, Cynthia Lentz; two brothers, Tom and Joe Diver; and two sisters, Dorothy Whitmarsh and Ruth Diver. Survivors include: his wife, Wanda Litherland of St. Francisville; three daughters, Sylvia Pulleyblank (George Ivers) of rural Lawrenceville, Patricia (Jerry) Eggebrecht of Orlando, Florida and Rebecca (John) McKay of Greer, South Carolina; two step-sons, Steve (Tena) Litherland of Oak Ridge, Tennessee and Scott Litherland of Avon, Indiana; two step-daughters, Jane (Mike) Reedus of rural Lawrenceville and Martha Carroll (John Finks) of Texas; five sisters, Gerry Cannon of Lawrenceville, Mary Curts of Bridgeport, A. Louise "Doodle" Diver of Lawrenceville, Virginia Mullin of Indianapolis, Indiana and Joanne Childress of Lawrenceville; two sisters-in-law, Joanne Diver of St. Francisville and Mary E. Pinkstaff of Lawrenceville, and one brother-in-law Richard (Jerri) Swope of Oklahoma. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Emmons-Macey and Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. . Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until the service hour at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.
