Patricia R. Jenney, age 94, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away and entered into the presence of Jesus to hear the words “Well done, thy good and faithful servant” on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. She was born February 10, 1932, in Lawrenceville, the daughter of Harry (Bud) Corder and Connie Emmons Corder. She married Russell D. Jenney on April 10, 1951, and he passed away May 22, 2000.
Patricia devoted her life to her family as a homemaker, creating a warm and loving home. She was a faithful member of Lawrenceville First Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, helped with the children’s choir, and participated in the lady’s prayer group. She also spent time visiting individuals in nursing homes, offering comfort and companionship. Patricia loved to read and took great joy in organizing class reunions to keep lifelong friendships strong. She was an avid walker and found peace in her daily strolls. A gifted writer, she especially enjoyed composing poems for her grandchildren, leaving them treasured keepsakes of her love. Above all, Patricia cherished time with her family and was deeply patriotic, holding a strong love for her country.
Preceding Patricia in death were her parents.
Survivors include daughter, Holly Jenney of Carmi, Illinois; son, Russell Todd (Marla) Jenney of Canton, Georgia; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Jeannie (Dr. Larry) Herron of Lawrenceville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 14, 2026, 2:00 p.m. at the First Methodist Church, 1015 12th Street, Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. till the service hour of 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Methodist Church.
