Patricia 'Patsy' A. Mefford

Patricia ‘Patsy’ A. Mefford, age 92, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at her residence. She was born on July 21, 1930 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the daughter of Levin Jones and Bernice (Aaron) McCurdy. She married James Robert Mefford in 1949, and he preceded her in death on March 20, 2020.

Patsy was the secretary for the First Christian Church in Lawrenceville for ten plus years, as well as a caseworker for the Illinois Department of Public Aid. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Lawrenceville; where she was an elder, chairman of the board, and treasurer. She was also a member of several Bridge Clubs and DAR. Her hobbies included playing Bridge, painting china, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, one brother, and two sisters.

Survivors include one daughter, Cynthia Schrey and her husband, Steve of Olney, Illinois; one son, Randy Mefford of Lawrenceville, Illinois; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 11:00 AM CDT at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM CDT at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the First Christian Church in Lawrenceville.
