Omer Ford, 102, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away Friday April 13, 2012 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital.
Born September 13, 1909 in Lawrence County, IL he was the son of Lindsey and Alta Hannah (Mills) Ford. On February 11, 1946 he married Lethia June Cook-James. She survives.
Omer worked Instruments at the Texaco Refinery in Lawrenceville retiring in 1971. He was United States Army Veteran of WWII. He was a lifetime member of the Masons, Elks and the VFW.
Along with his wife he is survived by a daughter: Mary Collier of Federalsburg, MD, two brother: Charles Ford of Lawrenceville, IL, Marion Ford of Newton, IL, a sister: Becky Cox of Vincennes, IN two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
A Graveside Service will be conducted Thursday April 26, 2012 at Lawrenceville City Cemetery at 2:00pm. Military Rites will be conducted by the Lawrenceville American Legion and VFW.
