Olive R. York

Olive R. York, 81, of rural Lawrenceville, IL passed away Thursday, September 18, 2008 at the United Methodist Village.She was born August 10, 1927 in Lawrence County, the daughter of Ell and Della (Poland) Waggoner.  She married George Robert "Bob" York on June 2, 1950 and he passed away March 11, 2007.Olive was a homemaker and a member of the Island Free Methodist Church.She is survived by one son, Doug and Anita York of Lawrenceville; one daughter Peggy and Ed Turner of Lawrenceville; one sister Elouise Westall of Noble, IL; and three grandchildren Abbie and Chris Cochran, Sally and Justin Daugherty, and Nikki and Joe Brown.Olive was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers, and one sister.The funeral will be Saturday at 12:00 (noon) at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL.Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 am until the hour of service at 12:00 noon at the funeral home.Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to the Island Free Methodist Church Parsonage through the funeral home.
