Norman Ray Burris, 63, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville. He was born July 12, 1952, in Terre Haute, Indiana, the son of Robert and Betty (Green) Burris.
Norman started working for Packaging Corporation of America in Rittman, OH, where he worked for 26 years. He was Union President for several years. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his fiancée Linda Turner; two sons Scott (Barbara) Burris of Killbuck, OH and Christopher Burris of Hudson, Florida; four daughters, Dawn Burris of Millstone, West Virginia, Heidi Rojas of Orrville, OH, Jennifer Burris of Winter Haven, Florida, Holly Turner of LaCrosse, Indiana; one brother, Eddie (Laury) Burris of Clinton, Indiana, an aunt Mary Gadberry of Terre Haute; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Also surviving are several cousins.
Services will be Saturday, August 22, 2015, at 12:00 noon (EST) at Deming Park in Terre Haute, IN with Pastor Janice Smith officiating.
Memorials may be made to the funeral home to help the family with expenses.
