Norma Cannon Craft, age 101, formerly of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Gentle Care in Vincennes, Indiana. She was born October 14, 1924, in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Lyman W. Emmons and Marjorie Hughes Emmons. She married William Cannon and he preceded her in death on June 2, 1972. She married Robert Craft, and he survives.
Norma was a dedicated and dependable professional who served as a secretary for the Wabash Production Credit Association. A woman of strong faith, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville. She was also actively involved in her community as a member of P.E.O. and her local Bridge Club, forming lasting friendships through her involvement.
Norma found great joy in life’s special moments. She loved taking sightseeing trips and traveling to new places. She cherished time spent with her family and took great pleasure in entertaining friends and loved ones in her home. The holidays were especially meaningful to Norma, as she delighted in preparing, decorating, and creating memorable gatherings for those she held dear.
Preceding Norma in death were her parents; daughter, Susan “Susie” Cannon; brothers, Paul E. Emmons, Charles E. Emmons, Eugene H. Emmons, and Clarence L. Emmons; sister, Shirley Spears.
Survivors include: her husband, Robert; daughter, Barbara “Bobbie” (Dan) Powell of Lawrenceville; step-son, Michael (Holly) Craft of Germantown, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Bill (Stacey) Powell, Chelsey (Susan) Olson, and Mark (Johnny) Powell; three great-grandchildren, Hayden (Aubrey) Powell, Cale Powell, and Addie Powell; two great-great-grandchildren, Sutton Powell and Graham Powell.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 27, 2026, at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. till the service hour of 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Lawrence County Cancer Resource Center & Wig Shoppe.
