Nina Richey

Nina Grace Hockman Richey, 88, was born April 25, 1919 in Butler County, KS to Justus F. Hockman and Iva Maude Waggoner Hockman. September 14, 1940 Alvin Arthur Richey and Nina Grace Hockman were united in marriage in St. Charles, MO. She resided for over 50 years on a Grain and Polled Hereford Cattle Farm on the Richland/Lawrence County line Rd.For the past four years, she has lived in Indianapolis, IN with her daughter and son in law Nancy & Jim Deffendall. She is preceded in death by her husband Alvin A. Richey, her parents, her sister Fern Thomas, and her brother Nelson F. Hockman.Survivors include her sons: J. Hugh Richey and his wife Rose Marie of Fullerton, CA, Darrell Richey and his wife Patricia of Mattoon, IL, Mark Richey and his wife Eileen Richey of Littleton, CO, daughter: Nancy Deffendall and her husband Jim of Indianapolis, IN, a sister Alene Van Gilder of Flat Rock, IL, five grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 6 step-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.The funeral will be Saturday April 19, 2008 at 1:00PM at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, IL. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00am until the service hour of 1:00PM at the funeral home.Burial will be at the Amity Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made In Memory of Nina Grace Richey to any not for profit Hospice group or to a charity of your choice
