Nina L. Minniear, 72, of Jacksonville, IL and formerly of Lawrenceville, IL died Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.
She was born September 16, 1939 in Lawrence County, IL; the daughter of Forest J. and Mary Lorene Benson Main. She married Dallas E. Minniear on June 8, 1958 in Lawrenceville and he preceded her in death on February 22, 2011.
She is survived by a brother, F. Leo Main (wife, Jeanine) of Fairfield; a sister, Linda Lucille Waggoner (husband, Don) of Lawrenceville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Wilma Earnst and Nancy Spillman; and a brother Larry Main.
Mrs. Minniear was a 1957 graduate of Lawrenceville High School and spent many years as an office worker for several Springfield area businesses and later assisting her husband at Hynes & Minniear Certified Public Accountants. Most recently she was employed in the offices of Capitol Records/EMI at Jacksonville.
She was a long-time member and officer in Delta Theta Tau and maintained her close friendships with the members after the organization disbanded. She was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed collecting bells and Christmas villages in her spare time. Nina possessed a gift of relating to children of all ages and enjoyed claiming honorary adoption of many young people. She was also a devoted St. Louis Cardinal fan.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside memorial services will be held 11:00 am Friday at Centerville Cemetery in rural Lawrenceville. There will be no visitation. Memorial gifts are suggested to the Arthritis Foundation.
